Yes, players shall be homeschooled students, with the majority of their education managed by their parents or guardians. This definition does not preclude parents from paying for private educational services as a minor supplement to their child’s education. These homeschooled students may also participate in homeschool athletics, which could include soccer registration and fulfilling specific team requirements.
For our homeschool athletics program, we currently only have a fall season. Practices start in mid-June, and soccer registration is open, with the season running through mid-October to meet all team requirements.
No, but we do conclude our practices with Christian devotion and prayer, and we regularly pray before games. All players are required to be present and respectful during this time, regardless of their participation. Additionally, as part of our team requirements for homeschool athletics, all players and parents must agree to our code of conduct prior to soccer registration and playing for the Jags.
Connect with us using our 'Contact Us' form, and we will provide you with information for homeschool athletics registration and the soccer registration process, ensuring you meet all team requirements to sign up for our team app.
Our homeschool athletics practices for the 2026 soccer season will be held on Mondays and Thursdays (or Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 6-8 PM, with Saturday sessions from 9-11 AM (Saturday practice only through July). Please note that practice times will adjust in late September as it starts getting dark earlier, and we will notify players and parents when this change occurs. Soccer registration is open, and games will be played weekly, beginning at the end of July through mid-October, typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays, in line with team requirements.

Starting in August, you should expect to travel every other weekend as part of our homeschool athletics program. We have a 'home and home' arrangement with many teams we face, and we also participate in some 3-way events. Throughout the season, our travel games are typically located in the Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Cincinnati areas. We strive to schedule all Jags teams for the same away destination to streamline logistics, so be sure to check the soccer registration for specific team requirements.

No. It is our desire that athletes of all skill levels can participate in a welcoming, safe, and challenging soccer experience, including those involved in homeschool athletics. We encourage everyone to complete the soccer registration process and meet the team requirements.
It is possible that players will complete evaluation exercises, but tryouts are not required to join the River City Jaguars, making it accessible for those involved in homeschool athletics. Additionally, check the soccer registration details for any specific team requirements.
We are a competitive team in our homeschool athletics program, so there is no concept of 'equal playing time.' However, we recognize that to build a strong team, we need a deep bench, and for that, players must gain experience. Our goal is to develop the entire team. While all players will receive playing time, it may not be 'equal,' especially when considering the team requirements that come with soccer registration.
It is important that players attend practice, especially for homeschool athletics. Consistent absences need to be pre-arranged by parents and approved by coaches to meet team requirements. Additionally, staying committed will help ensure a smooth soccer registration process.
The River City Jags compete against a variety of teams including those from private schools, Christian schools, club teams, public schools, and other homeschool teams. Our season focuses primarily on participating in homeschool athletics, where we play against programs from the Indiana Homeschool Soccer League. For those interested in joining, soccer registration includes meeting specific team requirements.
All of our teams participate in the IHSL state tournament, aligning with our commitment to promoting homeschool athletics. Our 14U team engages in one additional regular-season tournament, while the 19U teams also play an extra regular season tournament before concluding their season at the National Homeschool Soccer Championship. This structure meets our team requirements and ensures a competitive experience for all players involved, including those interested in soccer registration.
2024 Season soccer registration fees are as follows:
19U Girls and Boys Divisions: $360
14U Division (Coed): $335
11U Division (Coed): $250
*We offer new player and multi-player family discounts to support homeschool athletics participation.
*Additionally, there is a $90 uniform fee per player. Please note that uniforms are replaced on a 2-year cycle to meet team requirements.
In cases of hardship related to our homeschool athletics programs, our board will review the situation and may offer a reduced fee. For those facing extreme hardship, we might be able to waive fees altogether. If your family requires financial assistance, please reach out to us or speak with a board member or coach regarding soccer registration and team requirements. Additionally, there are usually carpool options available to games to help save on travel expenses.
All players participating in our homeschool athletics program will need to provide their own cleats (firm ground), shin guards, practice wear, ball, and water bottle. If you are new to soccer and have questions about the team requirements, please contact us before making any gear purchases.
