Yes, players shall be homeschooled students, with the majority of their education managed by their parents/guardians. This definition does not preclude parents from paying for private educational services as a minor supplement to their child’s education.
No, but we do conclude our practices with Christian devotion and prayer and regularly pray before games. All players are required to be present and respectful during this time regardless of participation. All players and parents are required to agree to our code of conduct prior to playing for the Jags.
Practices are typically Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM for Middle School and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM for High School.
Boys in 6th-12th grades for the 2024-2025 school year.
We may play an occasional team 1-1.5 hours away but most all of our games are played in the Kentuckiana area.
It is possible that players will complete evaluation exercises but tryouts are not required to be a part of the River City Jaguars.
We are a competitive team, so there is no “equal playing time”. We do recognize that in order to be a good team, we need a deep bench, and in order for our bench to be good, players need experience. We strive to develop the whole team. Players will receive playing time, but it may not be “equal”.
The River City Jags play teams from private schools, Christian schools, club teams, public schools, along with other homeschool teams.
We work hard to help players afford to play on the team. In cases of hardship, our board will review and can possibly offer a reduced fee. In cases of extreme hardship, we may be able to waive fees. Please contact contact us if your family is in need of financial assistance.
It is important that players attend practice. Consistent absences need to be pre-arranged by parents and approved by coaches.
